Forthcoming Film “Alzheimer’s” Slated for Production in Early 2023
Co-writers and co-creators John Thomas Golden and Max Luces-Tucker of the forthcoming inspirational, multi-racial, multi-generational drama “Alzheimer’s,” are currently in the final stages of development of their forthcoming two hour feature film. Pre-production is expected to begin in the fall of 2022, with production slated for 2023. The logline for “Alzheimer’s” is as follows, “An ambitious 22 year old hipster in the San Francisco Bay is diagnosed with a debilitating illness. The lead character, Chad juggles his secret life while negotiating his rapidly aging mind and body; forced to reveal his secret, he elicits the help of those closest to him. He then sets out to ‘make a mark’ in the world, despite his challenging circumstances.”
When co-creator John Thomas Golden was asked what this film means to him, Golden states, “This story means everything to us as a writing team. This film will be made to create awareness, just as much as it is being made to inspire hope. We are touched by incurable health and we know so many others who have been as well. We want to see the good that can come from addressing some of these issues.”
According to John Thomas Golden and Max Luces-Tucker they plan to secure their complete production team by fall of this year. “Alzheimer’s” is an drama that focuses on creating awareness of the challenges faced through the illness, as well as a story of persevering despite obstacles, and the importance of always keeping hope alive. John Thomas Golden’s background includes working as an actor in both film and theater. He is a screenwriter and owner of John Kevin Thomas Golden Entertainment. Golden received his Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) card in 1998 while working on the set of “Gattaca; other acting credits include, “Havoc 2005,” “The 7th Day,” and'' bUMS,” which is in post production.

Decades ago, upon moving to Los Angeles, Golden signed with Weist Barron Hill Film and Television in Burbank. Stating, "I have also had the pleasure of being coached and trained by Bruce Glover. Theater is where my love of acting and creating through productions started; this is where my love for acting truly blossomed. John Thomas Golden then attended The East Bay Center for The Performing Arts. It was here that he directed one act, worked on various productions and received an award for his portrayal of the role of El Rahim in Miguel Pinero "Short Eyes." During his time at Shelton Studio, Golden was cast to portray the role of Crooks in "Of Mice and Men". Concluding, “The production run for this production had a great response, so much so that it was extended. He was also cast in the play "Love Supreme" as JC, a John Coltrane adaptation.”
Speaking of his Co-writer and Co-creator of “Alzheimer’s” Golden states, “I have the privilege and honor of working side by side with Max Luces-Tucker, who is a talented force with a successful background in writing, apparel, music, film and television. It is a true honor to work with her. Max Luces-Tucker has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in film and television working with directors, producers and songwriters, and is a highly sought after music supervisor.”
As an entrepreneur Luces-Tucker created promotion and tour merchandise for groundbreaking artists such as NWA, Ice Cube, Janet Jackson and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In 2019 she earned a Telly Award for “Outstanding Achievement” in Social Issues Documentary work for “American Fumble” the RJ Soward Story, a pilot on Amazon Prime. Max Luces-Tucker has also worked at ASCAP where she recruited and signed writers and publishers, in addition to planning informational panels, workshops and special events. She was the Music Supervisor for MTV’s “The Real World,” and for two Emmy Award winning shows, NBC's “Starting Over,” and the HBO documentary “Autism: The Musical,” a film about children who suffer from Autism and the impact it has on their families.
