One In Critical Condition After LAX Gas Leak: LAFD
Terminal 8 at Los Angeles International Airport reopened Monday after a gas leak which sickened 4 workers.

LOS ANGELES, CA — One worker sickened in a gas leak Monday at a baggage area at Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 8 has been upgraded from grave to critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The worker is a 36-year-old male contract worker at the airport who was working in an electrical room near the terminal when the leak occurred.
According to the department, carbon dioxide was released from an unspecified source and sickened a total of four people.

Fire officials say airport police administered CPR to the overcome worker, who was initially in full cardiac arrest but is now breathing at a hospital.
Terminal 8 was cleared of passengers due to a hazardous materials investigation by the Los Angeles Fire Department, but has since reopened, according to LAX.

LAX officials added that only Terminal 8 and United Airlines were impacted by the hazmat investigation.
