Grand Park 4th of July Block Party To Move Online Due To Pandemic

The Music Center's Grand Park 4th of July Block Party, a tradition for many Angelenos, will be an online celebration this year.

LOS ANGELES, CA — In a sign that things won't be returning to 'normal' any time soon, the Music Center's Grand Park 4th of July Block Party will be moved entirely online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was announced Wednesday.

What will online block party include? viewers can look forward to cooking demonstrations, comedy ensembles and music performances, as well as online workshops and more. The event is being billed as "family-friendly" celebration of our country featuring local artists and community partners. It remains to be seen if a fireworks display will be part of the celebration.

The Independence Day celebration will be a "multi-dimensional online experience" and will feature new content for digital enjoyment, according to a Music Center statement.

The event is expected to last three hours and will be broadcast live on Grand Park's digital streaming platforms on the Fourth of July and at grandparkla.org.

Grand Park will be closed to public gatherings and picnics on July 4.
