White Powder In Envelope On USC Campus Not Dangerous, Police Say
The powder caused a hazmat response Thursday on campus but ultimately was not dangerous, according to authorities.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Emergency crews were called to the University of Southern California on Thursday after a mysterious powder was found in an envelope, according to police.
First responders received a call around 3 p.m. about unknown powder in an envelope at the school's Department of Public Safety Office, located in a parking structure along the 3600 block of McClintock Avenue, police said. The powder was determined not to be dangerous, according to police.
The university tweeted a warning around 4:45 p.m. that a hazardous materials incident was unfolding on campus, adding that although there was no immediate danger, people should stay away from the area. Shortly before 5:30 p.m., the school tweeted the incident was over.
