Head-On Pileup Erupts In Gunfire; Shooter At Large
Authorities are looking for the shooter, who fled the scene of the crash.
LADERA HEIGHTS, CA — A head-on crash involving three vehicles erupted in gunfire Friday afternoon in the Ladera Heights area, prompting the shutdown of the road around South Fairfax Avenue amid the ongoing search for the shooter.
One person suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and another was trapped in the wreckage of the crash, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department. In all, three people were taken to nearby hospitals.
The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. at South Fairfax Avenue and Stocker Street near La Cienega Boulevard. First responders discovered one person trapped inside one of the vehicles involved in the collision. Another person had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg after the crash, LASD said.

Authorities said the victim involved in the shooting was uncooperative with investigators, leaving the details unclear.
