Help Urgently Needed To ID Kidnapping Victim And Attacker In LA County

A security camera captured an incident in which a man, pistol-whipped a woman and dragged her into his car Tuesday, according to police.

COMMERCE, CA — It hasn't yet been 24 hours since a security camera in Commerce appeared to capture a violent kidnapping. Police believe an unknown woman is in serious danger, and detectives are asking for help identifying the victim as well as the man seen pistol-whipping her and dragging her into his car Tuesday afternoon.

The attack happened Tuesday at 4:21 p.m. in the 2200 block of Clouts Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, a woman was seen walking and talking on her cell phone when a man pulled into a nearby driveway, got out of his car and charged the woman. Investigators say he struck her with a pistol and dragged her into the passenger side of his car and drove off.

As of yet, the identities of the victim and the suspect are unknown.

The woman has long, dark hair and appeared to be wearing a dark top or dress at the time of the kidnapping. Her attacker has short dark hair, and was wearing a grey tank top, black shorts and socks and tennis shoes at the time of the attack.

His vehicle appears to be a silver four-door sedan, possibly a 2016-17 Kia Rio with an unknown license plate.
