Here's Why The Morning Commute Was So Brutal
An overturned big rig spilled a 15-ton load onto the 10 Freeway near downtown, snarling the freeway for 10 hours.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A big rig overturned Thursday on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles, blocking most of the lanes into the morning commute while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash occurred about 2 a.m. near Santa Fe Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Only one eastbound lane was open to traffic as of 8:30 a.m., the CHP reported. No injuries were reported.

The truck reportedly was carrying a 15-ton load. The SigAlert was finally cleared by 10 a.m. Thursday.
