Hotel Figueroa Debuts Centennial High Tea Experience at Café Fig
A new afternoon tea in a historic setting

As Hotel Figueroa celebrates its 100th anniversary, the historic downtown Los Angeles property has introduced a new Centennial High Tea Experience at Café Fig, blending classic afternoon tea traditions with the glamour and spirit that have defined the hotel for a century.

The new tea service offers an escape inside one of Los Angeles’ most storied hotels. Long known for its Spanish Colonial architecture, bohemian history, and ties to the city’s creative community, Hotel Figueroa is using the experience to honor its legacy while inviting a new generation of guests to indulge in a refined afternoon ritual.

Served every Tuesday and Saturday, the Centennial High Tea offers delicate pastries, savory tea sandwiches, sparkling wine, and specialty cocktails. Guests get to choose their own teapot from a variety of beautiful green teapots.

Guests are welcomed with a choice of sparkling rosé or a non-alcoholic cocktail, including a Virgin Lavender Mojito, before settling into tiers of sweet and savory bites. The menu leans classic featuring salmon cream cheese sandwiches, cucumber tea sandwiches, heirloom ricotta creations, seasonal fruit sandwiches, and goat cheese date bites alongside house-made scones.
On the sweeter side, the presentation includes assorted double-flavored macarons, Venetian bon bons, Portuguese-style pastel de nata pastries, madeleines, and colorful chou chou confections that add a whimsical flourish to the afternoon spread.

For guests looking to elevate the experience further, prestige caviar blinis topped with crème fraîche, shallots, chives, and caviar are available as an add-on.
The beverage menu also extends beyond tea, with bottles of Chandon Rosé, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne, Whispering Angel Rosé, and Hotel Figueroa’s signature sangria available for sipping beneath the hotel’s dramatic interiors and lush design details.
What makes the experience especially appealing is its setting. Unlike many traditional tea rooms, Café Fig carries the vintage glamour that have long made Hotel Figueroa a downtown landmark.
$85 per person, reservations are available through OpenTable.
