They’re back! Bringing their unique sound and skilled eclectic presence, Hugh Peeple are set to return to the Hotel Ziggy on Sunday October 26th. The band have quickly garnered a reputation for their outstanding live performances which is no surprise considering the caliber of talent that brings this live experience together. Hugh Peeple is a unique collective of musicians and singers whose lineage connects directly to many of the music world’s all-time greats. The brainchild and passion project of writer, producer, and singer Nathan Cowles, Hugh Peeple blends old-school funk, dance music, and rock with a modern edge. Cowles has assembled a stellar cast of characters from rock ’n’ roll, R&B, and modern dance music. After developing the material for over a decade, Cowles connected with producer Danny Saber in late 2022. The two then spent the next two years shaping an album that fused their mutual love of funk with their rock roots. The list of contributors to the recordings is impressive. Levi Seacer, Jr., best known for his work with Prince during the Diamonds and Pearls era, brings serious pedigree. Another luminary is Dorothy Morrison (who performs on Celebrate and FBI), the powerhouse voice behind Oh Happy Day—the first gospel song to ever cross over to the pop charts. Michael Urbano, who played drums on Sheryl Crow’s If It Makes You Happy and recently toured with Lindsey Buckingham. Larry Ferguson was a member of The United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own", from 2002–2022 and served as the concert band percussion section leader from 2019. Joe Herrera of Thievery Corporation contributes horn arrangements. The gifted Charles Ware on keyboards. And then there’s Saber, whose career ignited with the release of Black Grape’s #1 UK album It’s Great When You’re Straight... Yeah. Sean Ryder’s resurrection followed his legendary exploits with the Happy Mondays. His credits are a who’s who of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees—everyone from Bowie and The Rolling Stones to Public Enemy. Contributors to the recordings include:

Hugh Peeple has also lit up the stage with live shows fronted by the dynamic Niecey Robinson, aka LivingSingle, who also performs lead vocals on the bulk of the recordings—backed by a rhythm section that includes Saber (multi-instrumentalist), Seacer(bass), Morgan Day (guitar), and Seacer’s son Michael on drums, plus the firepower of horn masters Joe Herrera and Elijah Balbed. Their fusing of traditional instrumentation and electronica has translated into dynamic performances—complete with a fully integrated dance crew led by J-Bad.
