Industrial Worker Crushed To Death By Concrete Barrier In Commerce

COMMERCE, CA — An industrial worker was crushed to death by a concrete barrier at a site in Commerce, authorities said Saturday.

The accident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Friday at Strategic Materials Inc. at 7000 Bandini Blvd., near Garfield Avenue and Interstate 5, according to a watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's East Los Angeles station.

The worker was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Cal/OSHA was investigating the accident. No further information was immediately available.
