JetBlue Plane Evacuated At LAX; Bomb Squad Called In
The plane has been taken to a remote area of LAX while a bomb squad prepares to investigate a suspicious package.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A bomb threat and suspicious package aboard a JetBlue plane at Los Angeles International Airport prompted police to evacuate the plane Thursday aftrnoon. A bomb squad eventually cleared the plane after finding no threat.
Passengers piled off the plane on the tarmac at LAX and were taken by bus to a holding area, according to authorities. A bomb squad boarded the plane and searched for threats after the plane had been taken to a remote area of the airport.
Reports from the scene indicated there was a total of about 70 people aboard.

According to the Los Angeles Airport Police Department, at about 2 p.m., a "disgruntled passenger who missed his flight" in Las Vegas "made a statement indicating that his luggage contained a possible bomb on the JetBlue flight number 879." Las Vegas police "took enforcement action" against the passenger and notified LAX Police, leading to the isolation of the plane and the search.
There were no reports of any injuries.
