Joe Biden Makes Surprise Visit To LA County Ice Cream Shop
The famously ice cream-loving president made an unannounced visit to a local ice cream shop.

Customers and staff at one Los Angeles County ice cream shop got a big surprise Tuesday when former President Joe Biden and comedian Jay Leno rolled up in a vintage car to indulge in a sweet treat.
The owners of the Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in La Cañada Flintridge knew Leno would be coming to film a segment for his show "Jay Leno’s Garage" and that he would be brining a guest. At the producers' request, they kept Leno's planned visit a secret.
"We did not know ... that his guest was going to be Joe Biden!" Co-owner Lisa Hall told Patch.

The comedian and former president made their entrance in Biden's 1967 Corvette Stingray.
They were accompanied by a plethora of Secret Service agents, along with several members of the Biden family, Hall said.

Inquiring minds probably want to know — what flavor did the famously ice cream-obsessed president choose?
Biden went with a classic: A sugar cone with chocolate chip ice cream.
Leno was similarly old-school, ordering a sugar cone with chocolate and vanilla.
Hunter Biden ordered vanilla Oreo, while one of the former president's grandsons tried mango ice cream, Hall said.
"School had just gotten out, so we had lots of students there at the same time getting an afternoon treat. Biden and Leno were very gracious to all of them and gave out autographs and took photos," she said.
"Jay Leno's Garage," which streams on YouTube, features the former "Tonight Show" host and gearhead discussing automobiles, often with celebrity guests.
Biden has been a guest on the show several times, including in one 2016 episode when he did a burnout in his Corvette Stingray.
