- Los Angeles County Judge Michael O'Gara has been reprimanded by a state watchdog agency for inappropriate social media posts. Judge O'Gara's online activity includes support for recall efforts against LA County District Attorney George Gascón and criticisms of gun control and Black Lives Matter. (Antelope Valley Press)
- Los Angeles Police have arrested a juvenile suspect in a shooting that occurred September 2 at Santee High School on Maple Ave. just south of Santa Monica. LAPD detectives investigated the shooting using surveillance footage and social media posts. (NBC Southern California)
- A federal investigation has reported that Los Angeles Police Department bomb technicians made miscalculations during the detonation of illegal fireworks in June. The resulting explosion left 27 people injured. (KERO 23ABC News)
- 41-year-old Andrew Marnell of the Beverly Grove neighborhood has pleaded guilty to federal charges for fraudulently obtaining $7.4 million in coronavirus relief funds. Marnell apparently gambled some of the money away in Las Vegas and faces up to 40 years at his sentencing in February. (MyNewsLA.com)
- New York real estate heir Robert Durst's murder trial in LA Superior Court has concluded, leaving his fate to the jury. Durst is accused of killing Susan Berman execution-style in her home in December 2000. (Inland Valley Daily Bulletin)
