Jumper Prompts 10 Freeway Closure

Both the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway were impacted.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities shut down the Santa Monica (10) Freeway at the San Gabriel River(605) Freeway transition due to a possible jumper Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As of 6:15 p.m., all lanes of the westbound 10 freeway were shut down just west of Fraizer Street. Traffic was also backed up on the eastbound side of the 10 freeway leading to the northbound 605 freeway, according to the CHP.

A CHP helicopter was called in to assist with the effort to safely bring the jumper down and reopen the freeway.
