LA Men's Central Jail Locked Down Amid Reports Of Gunman
It was unclear if the alleged gunman inside the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail is an inmate. Deputies are still investigating

LOS ANGELES, CA — Reports of a gunman inside the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles prompted authorities to lock down the jail and surrounding area Tuesday afternoon. A massive police presence descended upon the area, and as of 4:20 p.m., there were no reports of an arrest.
Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Sheriff's Information Bureau confirmed that deputies are investigating the reports of an armed suspect at the Men's Central Jail.
It was unclear if the alleged gunman was an inmate. The jail is in the 440 block of Bauchet Street and it houses more than 5,000 inmates.
