LA-Native Perpetually Kat Makes a Splash on New Social App LIVIT

The gamer, streamer, cosplayer and artist finds success in a new and innovative realm

LIVIT is an international live streaming app for rising music artists, entertainers and influencers across the board. Making a splash in the overseas market, the buzzworthy platform is now breaking grounds in the U.S. in unique and innovative ways.During the pandemic, streaming has become increasingly popular; not only in terms of creators engaging with their fans, but bringing in extra cash flow in a time of uncertainty. This resonates especially in younger generations who are seeking to connect with the outside world, in which oftentimes they are lacking the freedom to head to work as normal. With the LIVIT app, streamers are able to monetize their content in real time. Viewers have the option to "gift" or donate money to their favorite creators, supporting their artistry. This allows content creators on LIVIT to take charge in building their own careers.

LIVIT enables users to watch real, entertaining and live content 24/7, as well as make real connections with streamers and viewers. Streamers on Livit make money from their content by gaining in-app coins from fans.Viewers can also take a look into the lives of the hottest talent and most captivating personalities, while being a part of the supportive community by commenting in streams and attending exclusive events.

Head of Operations for LIVIT in the U.S., Armin Collosi gives additional insight on the future of streamers on the LIVIT app stating:

"I'm excited to see the next generation of content that streamers are going to produce once they're allowed to explore the world again. Traveling and exploration content is one of my favorites, along with getting more behind-the-scenes content from some of my favorite musicians and artists. Watching these musicians in their creative process and getting a behind-the-scenes look as to how challenging it can be to create some of the most influential songs of all time."

Q: What drove you to collaborate with the LIVIT app?

A: So I’m actually disabled, and also unfortunately struggle with various mental illnesses. This combination means that getting and keeping a “regular” job is nearly impossible. Streaming allows me to work from home, on my own hours, and take breaks when needed. It’s a very flexible schedule - but that doesn’t make it easy to actually make money. But still, that kind of schedule makes it worth it for me to push and work for a larger audience and to grow my platform. I’ve actually wanted to stream for a long time now but for one reason or another just never got around to it. But one day a friend of mine showed me LIVIT and through her I got into contact with a talent manager, and pretty immediately got signed onto a contract with the app.

Q: What kind of content do you like to bring to your viewers?

A:
I do a variety of things on LIVIT. I do a lot of gaming streams, where people can watch me struggle and make jokes while I play different games. Some gameplays are more serious than others but overall I think it’s mostly about having fun. I do play a lot of solo games but sometimes I’ll go online and have fun with others too. I also do chat streams where I will talk to the audience about whatever while I do makeup. Sometimes I’ll do a sort of tutorial and talk about the products I like, but other times I’ll pick a topic like self-love and just go on a bit about that, encouraging my viewers to love themselves and see their value as beautiful people. Aside from that, on occasion I do similar chat streams while I paint or multitask, or other various activities that I can do while holding conversations. It’s a bit of a mash-up between different things but at the end of the day I really just want to entertain.

Q: What features do you like on the app that you don't get on others like Instagram and TikTok?

A:
There are lots of similarities between pretty much every social media platform out there, but of course every one of them has its own charms. I like LIVIT’s unique animations that show when a viewer sends a gift during a stream. I also like the way the app allows you to broadcast and share others’ streams fairly easily, and the competitions that take place every month always keeps it interesting.

Q: What inspires you and drives your vision on the account?

A:
There were many times in my life where I found myself in a dark place, just really struggling. And it may seem silly to some people but I found comfort and distraction from the bad in watching streamers, gamers, entertainers, things like that. And beyond that, this allows me to talk about things like mental health, and self-love, body positivity, anything important that I’m passionate about while also still being entertaining and largely a place to go for some fun and distraction.I like to space things out and always say what my stream is, and if one day I’m doing a stream where I talk about some heavy things and someone isn’t feeling it, then they still have a place on my account because the next day I’ll be doing something like putting makeup on my friend blindfolded or something silly like that.

Q: How has your streaming routine changed for you since the pandemic?

A:
I actually didn’t become a contracted streamer with LIVIT until the pandemic was well underway. But quarantine definitely means there’s plenty of time to stream and with so many people stuck at home, there’s plenty of people who’d be interested in watching me. It also became a way to help me keep track of the days that tend to blur together during COVID-19.

Q: How has streaming overall on LIVIT helped you to connect with fans and viewers from around the world?

A:
I’ve met so many wonderful people on LIVIT. If I really like the energy of a streamer, then of course I’ll come back. And eventually we recognize each other’s usernames and from there a friendship just sort of blossoms. And everyone’s been so supportive and kind and we all just sort of help boost each other up which can sometimes mean our audiences sort of merge at times. Ever since streaming on LIVIT I’ve met some amazing people from not only all over the country, but from other countries as well.

Q: At the end of the day, what do you want viewers to take away from your streams?

A:
Especially these days, with current events, I think everyone in the world needs a break now and then. And I want to be that pocket of sunshine that brightens someone’s day even just a little bit. I want people with mental illnesses to know that they aren’t alone, I want people with low self esteem to learn to love themselves, I want people all over to laugh and feel good about themselves and about the little community we create together. I can talk and talk about what I want my streams to be about but at the very core I truly just want people to smile. I hope my viewers feel safe and happy when they’re on my page and I think the world needs more light places to breathe for even a moment.
