LA-Native Philthy Turtle Makes a Splash on New Social App LIVIT

Today we also focus on Philthy Turtle an upcoming and popular streamer on the LIVIT app. Philthy Turtle found success as both a streamer and a business with his pixel art. Due to COVID, he was unable to sell his art at conventions and went back to his old job as a nurse. Phil was given a paid opportunity to stream on LIVIT which aided with his financial situation. After moving to LIVIT he instantly fell in love with the amazing community. He was then offered a job to work for the platform where he quit his job running the COVID unit. He now works his dream job as a Talent Manager and Community manager. I had the opportunity to speak with the artist about his creative endeavors alongside his involvement and success with the LIVIT app.

Q: What drove you to collaborate with the LIVIT app?

A: It all started when two extremely good friends of mine asked me to join them on a new venture. These were the type of friends where no matter what they ask you will always say yes to. I put my trust in them, and it became one of the best decisions of my life!

Q: What kind of content do you like to bring to your viewers?

A: I am a very niche type of artist. I make physical pixel art out of beads you melt together. I absolutely love showing my passion for my art. There are not many streamers who create pixel art or even make perlers to the scale that I do. It's really awesome being able to teach people through stream something I love dearly. It's also been amazing to share my knowledge on both the art aspect and business aspect of what I do.

Q: What features do you like on the app that you don't get on others like Instagram and TikTok?

A: The greatest thing about LIVIT is that your community defines where you appear on the hot page. There are no view counts, only support. If you build an amazing core community, they will come together and take you to the top. No other app can do that. When I was on other apps, I could easily get thousands in donations, but still not be discoverable due to view counts being the only metric that matters. On LIVIT, however, I get tons of gifts and BOOM top of the hop page. On LIVIT being a supporter to your favorite streamer has a direct impact on their discoverability. To me that gives more empowerment to the communities that we cultivate and grow.

Q: What inspires you and drives your vision on the account?

A: My drive, my motivation, my passion all stems from one thing, community. It was community that drew me into becoming a streamer. It was LIVIT's community that drew me into the platform. It is LIVIT's amazing community that will forever drive me and inspire me to do everything I do today. I am so thankful for every single person I have met from this platform. It's given me so much joy and so much motivation to push myself to make LIVIT the best platform possible.

Q: How has your streaming routine changed for you since the pandemic?

A: This is a really hard question for me to answer. The pandemic has done a number on my life. Despite being a full time streamer and a full-time business owner, I still worked full time as a nurse. I loved every aspect of all my jobs. I would wake up early every day, pack my orders, plan my streams, and then head to work my nursing shift. I would come home, stream my art and convention preparations till the late night. On my days off I'd stream and prep 12-16 hours straight. All of my inventory would be ready for the next convention and I would pretty much sell out. I was doing so well I was able to go from full time nurse to not necessarily needing the job, but I kept nursing because I loved it.

Once the pandemic hit, things went south fast. Every convention would cancel, and I lost my main source of income. I kept streaming and was forced to go back to nursing full time. My job as a nurse took too much out of me. Working the COVID unit for 6 months just wore me out mentally. I was no longer happy. Then one day I get a text message from a close friend telling me about a new streaming opportunity. No questions asked I just agreed to leave everything I built on one platform to move to LIVIT. It was the best decision of my life.

My first day on that app I met the most amazing people who have become my best friends. I found a community so welcoming that it made me forget all of the negative things happening in my life. I found the fuel that relit my dying spark in all my passions. Thing's went extremely well and within a month of streaming, I was presented with an opportunity that changed my life. I was offered my dream job; I was offered a position of Community Manager on LIVIT.

I ended up leaving my nursing job to pursue my dream of helping streamers live their dreams and passions. I wake up every day feeling completely blessed to have this opportunity. I have some of the greatest coworkers I call friends. I've cultivated absolutely amazing relationships with so many streamers in such a short time. I feel extremely fulfilled every time I see the joy streaming brings to all of our talents.

This pandemic put me in a very dark place, and LIVIT was the thing that save me. It was the beacon of positivity I needed when I could no longer be positive myself. Because of this, I give my all to the community that means the world to me. Thank you everyone for just being at my streams.

Q: How has streaming overall on LIVIT helped you to connect with fans and viewers from around the world?

A: I found it really easy to connect to audiences from other countries on LIVIT. I never really got that chance elsewhere. Within my first stream on the platform, I had met users from Japan, Taiwan, China, and even the middle east. It's incredible how art can be a universal language. I may not be able to communicate with all my viewers, but they understood and enjoyed the pieces of art I made.

Q: At the end of the day, what do you want viewers to take away from your streams?

A: I want them to know that hard work and dedication pays off. Your effort NEVER betrays you. Everything worth doing in life hides behind fear and difficulty. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. It may sometimes be an uphill climb, but the rewards are totally worth it. Remember every single day is a blessing, do not waste time and put your all into everything you do.
