LA Rapper Dead After Stabbing At Banc Of California Stadium

LOS ANGELES, CA — Rapper Drakeo the Ruler was killed Saturday night at the Once Upon a Time in LA concert at Banc of California Stadium on Saturday night, according to multiple media reports.
Hip Hop artist Darrell Caldwell, whose stage name is Drakeo, was assailed by several people and stabbed, the Los Angeles Times reported. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing at the stadium in Exposition Park around 8:40 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the festival concluded early due to the stabbing incident, but did not identify Caldwell. One of the rapper's representatives confirmed his identity with Rolling Stone magazine.
Caldwell had just turned 28 on Dec. 1.

The Once Upon a Time in LA Music Festival was slated to run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, but was shut down early by police and firefighters, Officer G. Todd of the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center said.
Artists including Al Green, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, the Isley Brothers and Cypress Hill were scheduled to perform on Saturday night.
After the fatal stabbing, artists and fans mourned Caldwell on social media.
"Nah man this s--- isn't right for real, wtf are we doing," Drake wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the two together.
Video from the scene on social media showed several people arguing and fighting outside the concert just before the stabbing, but it was unclear what sparked the confrontation.
The stabbing prompted a "massive response" from the LAPD and California Highway Patrol, ABC7 reported.
No arrests in connection with the stabbing were announced.
Caldwell, a Los Angeles native, had released 10 mixtapes since 2015 and released his first studio album earlier this year titled "I Am Mr. Mosely."
