LA Sheriff's Patrol SUV Slams Into East LA Traffic Light; 2 Hurt

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — Two people were injured Wednesday morning when a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department SUV jumped a curb and slammed into a traffic-light pole in East Los Angeles Wednesday.

Broadcast footage from the scene of the crash shows the badly damaged patrol vehicle wrapped around a pole on a street corner in front of an East Los Angeles church near Third Street and Mednik Avenue.

The crash was reported about 10 a.m. near Third Street and Mednik Avenue, according to the sheriff's department. The circumstances of the crash were unclear.

ABC7 reported from the scene that two people were injured, one with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries. According to the station, authorities did not specify that the injured people were deputies.
