LAPD Scatters DUI Checkpoints Throughout The City Through Sunday
On the heels of multiple hit-and-run fatalities this month, the LAPD will be looking to nab intoxicated drivers citywide through Sunday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police will be out in force Friday through Sunday looking for intoxicated drivers.
The Los Angeles Police Department will conduct a series of DUI checkpoints and a saturation patrol across a wide swath of the city.
"The DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests," the department said in a written release. "The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by educating drivers on the perils of DUI and by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road."
