LAPD Wants Public Input On New Police Chief
The Board of Police Commissioners released a link to on online survey, as well as an email address and a physical address for letters.

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Police Department's civilian bosses is seeking public input on the selection of the city's next police chief, it was announced Wednesday. The Board of Police Commissioners released a link to on online survey, as well as an email address and a physical address where letters can be mailed.
Chief Charlie Beck, who has led the department since 2009, said last month he will retire June 27, a year and a half before his term ends.
The commissioners said they will consider the suggestions and concerns received when making selections and assessing the qualifications of candidates. A series of six community meetings have also been planned; the first one was held Tuesday in Wilmington.

The online survey can be found at visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LACOP-Survey. Emails can be sent to per.cop.comments@lacity.org, and letters can be sent to the LAPD - Police Commission, 100 W. First St., Room 123, Los Angeles, CA, 90012.

– Wednesday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m., Montecito Heights Senior Center Community Room, 4545 Homer St.;
– Saturday, Feb. 24, 10 a.m., West LA Municipal Building Hearing Room, 1645 Corinth Ave., Sawtelle.
