LMU Dining by Sodexo Partners with Nā Kōlea for 50th Annual Luau

LMU Dining Services by Sodexo embarked on a special collaboration with Nā Kōlea to showcase authentic Hawaiian cuisine

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Dining Services by Sodexo embarked on a special collaboration with Nā Kōlea to showcase authentic Hawaiian cuisine for Nā Kōlea's 50th Annual Luau.

This unique culinary experience took place at the Lair Marketplace - Modern Recipe on Tuesday, March 19th, and Thursday, March 21st.

As part of this collaboration, LMU Dining featured exclusive pop-up menus on both days, highlighting traditional Hawaiian dishes prepared with expertise and passion. The menus included Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, Portuguese Bean Soup, Macaroni Potato Salad, and Spam Musubi on Tuesday, March 19th. On Thursday, March 21st, guests enjoyed Chicken Hekka (Bryce’s Grandma’s recipe), Kalua Pig, Portuguese Bean Soup, Macaroni Potato Salad, and Spam Musubi.

In addition to the delectable offerings, there was a community table on March 19th, where Nā Kōlea members shared insights into the cultural significance and stories behind the food being served. This interactive experience was designed to educate and engage students while fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Nā Kōlea to bring the flavors and traditions of Hawaii to the LMU community," said Kyle Suerth, Resident District Manager for LMU Dining Services. "This partnership celebrates culinary excellence and promotes cultural exchange and collaboration."

The event also featured sampling opportunities on March 14th, giving attendees a sneak peek into the delicious creations awaited them.
