Los Angeles Property Taxes Due Monday. How To Pay Online
Los Angeles County property tax payments processed after Monday will incur a 10 percent late fee.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The second installment of property taxes were due in Los Angeles Monday at 5 p.m., but electronic payments were being accepted up until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the delinquency date, according to the County Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collector's website.
Late payments result in a 10 percent penalty and a $10 fee. So a late property tax payment of $2,000 could cost a Los Angeles County homeowner at least $200.
"Electronic payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and payments are accepted until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the delinquency date," according to County Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collector's website.

Online payments can still be made for free using an electronic check transaction. Payments made with an American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa or debit card will include processing fees of 2.22 percent. So a property tax payment of $2,000 made by credit or debit card would cost a Los Angeles County homeowner about $44.
