Reserved exclusively for members and guests of Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa, Calamigos Beach Club has quietly become one of Malibu's most coveted retreats.

There's no pressure to see and be seen. Instead, the experience feels effortless. Guests linger over lunch, stroll across Pacific Coast Highway to the sand, cool off in the pool, or simply settle into a chaise lounge with the Pacific Ocean providing the soundtrack.

The Beach Club is an extension of the legendary Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa, located about 12 minutes away in the Santa Monica Mountains.

While the Ranch offers a secluded canyon retreat filled with lush landscaping, luxurious accommodations and tranquil wellness experiences, the Beach Club gives guests something uniquely Malibu: an intimate oceanfront escape that feels worlds away from Los Angeles while sitting just minutes from it.

That seamless connection between mountain retreat and coastal hideaway has become one of the property's defining experiences. It's also become the place to hold special events with a view of the ocean.

On June 19, Lance Bass with his husband, Michael Turchin, Chrishell Stause, Jonathan Adler, and Storm Reid, were among a who's who of entertainment, fashion and media gathered beneath the trees for Pride on PCH, a colorful afternoon celebrating community, friendship and the start of another Malibu summer.

Just a few days later, television personality Brooke Burke welcomed guests back to the same coastal oasis for the inaugural Joy Summit, where conversations about wellness unfolded over wood-fired pizza, tropical refreshments and a dose of California sunshine.

Under the leadership of CEO and fourth-generation owner Garrett Gerson, the historic family-run ranch has evolved into one of Southern California's most distinctive luxury destinations.

Gerson has overseen an ambitious expansion of the property while preserving the relaxed Malibu character that made Calamigos iconic in the first place. Rather than reinventing Calamigos, he has thoughtfully built upon nearly nine decades of history, creating a destination where luxury feels approachable, natural and unmistakably Californian.

That philosophy is immediately apparent at the beach club.

Unlike many luxury destinations that lean into exclusivity for the sake of appearances, Calamigos embraces an easygoing elegance. Sunlight pours across the pool deck, ocean breezes drift through open-air gathering spaces and guests move effortlessly between the gardens, restaurant, pool and beach.

There are no elaborate itineraries to follow—only invitations to relax.

During Pride on PCH, that atmosphere became part of the celebration itself.

Instead of feeling like a traditional Hollywood event, the afternoon felt remarkably intimate. Friends gathered beneath the shade of the garden, conversations flowed easily from one group to another, and guests wandered between music, cocktails and the property's signature wood-fired pizzas.

Erika Jayne, performing as DJ Pretty Mess, kept the energy lively without overpowering the relaxed mood that defines the property.

The setting proved equally fitting for Brooke Burke's Joy Summit on June 25. Guests sampled Joyburst's new Pineapple Coconut premium hydration beverage inspired by Disney's upcoming Moana film while enjoying seasonal bites, poolside conversations and an afternoon focused on positivity, wellness and movement.

Burke eventually invited attendees to join her for a joyful movement session, bringing the event to life in a way that perfectly matched the Beach Club's laid-back spirit.

While celebrity gatherings undoubtedly add excitement, they aren't what make Calamigos Beach Club memorable.

The real luxury comes from how naturally everything unfolds.

Guests can begin the morning with breakfast at the Ranch, spend the afternoon lounging poolside at the Beach Club, arrange paddleboard lessons through the Beach Team, cross Pacific Coast Highway for time on Malibu's iconic shoreline, then return for dinner as the sun begins to dip over the Pacific. Every part of the experience feels intentionally unhurried.

Whether enjoying a leisurely lunch, packing grab-and-go favorites for a beach picnic or gathering around the Beach Club's weekend Pizza Experience, every meal feels designed to complement—not interrupt—a perfect day in Malibu.

Even visitors who aren't staying at the resort have a new opportunity to experience a piece of Calamigos.

"The Calamigos Beach Club remains private for members and resort guests and will always be a world of its own. With the seasonal reopening, Calamigos PCH Market gives us the chance to extend a little of that magic to anyone passing through. It's a small space with a big welcome," said Don Jacinto, General Manager, Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa.

That welcoming philosophy may be one of Calamigos' greatest strengths. Despite its reputation as one of Southern California's premier luxury destinations—and its recognition among Leading Hotels of the World—the property never feels intimidating.

Families, couples celebrating milestone occasions, weekend travelers and entertainment industry insiders all seem to find the same thing: a place where luxury is defined less by excess than by comfort, thoughtful service and a genuine connection to Malibu itself.

In an era when many luxury destinations chase the next trend, Calamigos continues to perfect something timeless.

It's the feeling of arriving in Malibu, putting away your phone, lingering over one more slice of wood-fired pizza, watching friends laugh beneath the trees, wandering down to the beach as the afternoon sun softens, and realizing there isn't anywhere else you'd rather be.

For members, resort guests and celebrity gatherings, that's simply another day at Calamigos Beach Club.
