Man Accidentally Shoots Himself On LA Metro Bus
A man riding a Metro bus accidentally shot himself Wednesday morning, officials said.
LADERA HEIGHTS, CA — A rider aboard a Metro bus in Ladera Heights accidentally shot himself Wednesday, officials said.
The shooting was reported at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Slauson and Fairfax avenues, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The wounded person was taken to a hospital, a department spokeswoman said, adding that LAFD personnel responded when sheriff's deputies requested assistance for a victim with a gunshot wound.

Video recorded at the location showed a gun on the ground outside of a bus bearing the route number 108.
"This morning, while Bus Line 108 was stopped at Slauson and Fairfax, a rider accidentally discharged a firearm, injuring himself," according to a statement from Metro.

The sheriff's department is investigating the shooting and anyone with information about what happened was urged to call the LASD Transit Services Bureau at 323-563-5000.
