Man In Boxers And Superhero Poses Shuts Down 101 Freeway

Rush hour commuters were not amused Wednesday when a shirtless man unfurled homemade signs above the 101 Freeway, forcing its closure.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man wearing nothing but boxers managed to shut down the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, bringing rush hour traffic to a halt Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 8:25 a.m., the man climbed atop a freeway sign to hang homemade banners and flashed a series of super hero poses to commuters below. His banners included throwback PSA slogans including "give a hoot, don't pollute" and "fight pollution not each other."

Firefighters deployed giant airbags below the man at 110 Freeway and Beaudry Avenue, forcing the closure of all southbound lanes. That's when the man did a backflip onto a giant airbag and was taken into custody, posing as a superhero while California Highway Patrol officers tried to take him into custody.

The CHP closed the southbound 110 Freeway during the drama, plus the transition road from the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway to the southbound 110 Freeway to limit traffic from entering the area.

Commuters weren't amused with his antics. A Los Angeles Reddit thread quickly filled up with complaints and four letter words about the inconvenience.
