Man Drives Three Stolen Cars During High-Speed Valley Chase: Police

The man fled police for over an hour, using three different stolen cars. He was wanted for an earlier collision that injured two officers.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who fled from officers using three separate stolen vehicles led police on a high-speed chase through the west San Fernando Valley Wednesday afternoon before surrendering after an hour, according to police.

The Los Angeles Police Department were pursuing the man after he was wanted in connection to a crash in Toluca Lake in which two officers were injured. The chase began at around 1 p.m. when police spotted the man driving a stolen white minivan, according to the LAPD.

Traveling at speeds over 100 mph on freeways, the man wove also wove through traffic on surface streets and carjacked vehicles at two separate gas stations, first a BMW in Northridge, according to ABC 7.

The man later attempted to get into a Porsche at a Woodland Hills gas station, but after the driver of that car resisted, the suspect got back into the stolen BMW. He then drove to another station of Ventura Boulevard and got into another minivan that was parked at a gas pump, the station reported.

California Highway Patrol officers boxed the suspect in on a Moorpark Road freeway ramp. He surrendered after a few minutes, ABC 7 reported.
