Man Holed Up Inside Los Angeles Home Gives Up After 6-Hour Standoff

The man was armed with a pole, authorities said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man armed with a pole who holed up inside a Boyle Heights home in violation of a temporary restraining order surrendered to police after a nearly six-hour standoff, authorities said Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Wabash Avenue at about 5:20 p.m. Saturday in response to a 26-year-old man violating a temporary restraining order, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

SWAT officers were dispatched to the location at about 9 p.m., and the suspect surrendered to police without further incident at about 11 p.m., police said.
