Man Injured, Pet Dog Killed, In Fire At Los Angeles Home
The man sustained burns to his head and was taken to a hospital after being treated at the scene, authorities said.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was injured and his pet dog killed in a fire at a shed attached to the front of a one-story home in Valley Village, authorities said Sunday.
The man sustained burns to his head and was transported to a hospital after being treated at the scene, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
No other injuries were reported.

The fire was reported at 12:18 a.m. on the 4900 block of North Beeman Avenue and was well involved when firefighters arrived.
While fighting the blaze, some firefighters searched the 2,700-square- foot home where they found and rescued the injured man, Humphrey said.

After extinguishing the flames at 12:46 a.m., Humphrey said the firefighters found the man's dead dog inside the damaged building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
