Meet an “Amazing” WWII Hero Who Just Now Received His Bronze Star
Eldon Knuth, 95, was finally rewarded for his bravery during WWII.

Eldon Knuth, at 95, was finally rewarded for his bravery during WWII. At 19 years of age, Eldon survived five days trapped behind enemy lines along with about 30 members of his Army 95th Infantry division. It was miserably cold with scarcely enough supplies to stay alive. Yet somehow, they made it out and became known as “The Iron Men of Metz.”
Eldon went on to become a revered professor of engineering at UCLA, where he taught for 35 years. Eldon received his Bronze Star at the nursing home where he lives--complete with a display of honors despite the pandemic conditions which limited the number of participants (all were socially distanced and masked). Bravo, Eldon.
