Metro, Metrolink To Offer Free Rides, Bike Shares On Earth Day
Riders can zoom all around Southern California for free on Earth Day in a campaign to promote eco-friendly habits.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Metro and Metrolink are offering free rides on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, the two organizations announced in news releases.
Continuing a years-long tradition, Metro will offer free bus, rail, and bike shares on Earth Day, and Metrolink will provide free transportation at any of the six counties where it travels, with no tickets required. Both agencies hope to promote the more eco-friendly practices of taking public transportation.
“Taking the train for free this Earth Day is a win for both riders and the environment,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said in a statement. “With free rides and a new expanded schedule to get everyone where they want to go, we hope people will make a little change in their travel routine to have a larger impact for air quality in southern California.”
