Toddler Found Safe After Abduction In Los Angeles County: Police

The 18-month-old boy who was reportedly abducted by his aunt was found on Skid Row in Los Angeles, police said.

WEST COVINA, CA — The 18-month-old boy who police believe was taken from his home by his estranged aunt has been located, police said.

Authorities are now searching for the boy's aunt, Amber Alexis Destiny Zarate, 26, after her nephew was found on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, according to ABC 7 Los Angeles.

Police began a search for the missing boy after receiving a call Friday evening about the kidnapping from a home in West Covina.

When police arrived, they learned the toddler — identified as Isaiah Sunel Nava — was taken from the residence by Zarate, and surveillance video obtained by police shows Zarate in the area at the time of the boy's abduction, police said.

Zarate is on parole, a known drug user, has violent tendencies and has outstanding warrants for her arrest, according to authorities. Zarate is homeless and frequents the Los Angeles area.

Police said she was last seen wearing a black top, white pants and carrying a black backpack.
