Mother Of Abandoned Toddler Arrested: LAPD

A day after her toddler was found in a stroller in the middle of the night in Larchmont Village, police arrested the child's mother.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The searched for a 24-year-old mother whose toddler was found in an abandoned stroller in the middle of the night in Larchmont Village ended in her arrest Wednesday on suspicion of child endangerment.

The child, believed to be 2 or 3 years old was found by a passerby in a stroller left at 100 block of North Larchmont Boulevard near First Street around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to the los Angeles Police Department. The abandoned child set off a search for the child's parents.

Detectives searched the area and were unsuccessful in locating the child's parents. Police found an ID belonging to the child's mother, Targie Alexandre.

KTLA 5 reported that the child is a girl who is either 2 or 3 years old. Police said the child appeared to be in good health but was still taken to a hospital for evaluation. Her father was eventually located, but detectives did not disclose where they found him.

Alexandre was located at her workplace where she was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment. Her bail was set at $105,000.
