Mountain Biker Suffers Traumatic Injuries In Pacific Palisades

The 23-year-old mountain biker fell near Topanga State Park​ and was airlifted to a trauma center over the weekend.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A 23-year-old man is recovering after suffering multiple traumatic injuries in a mountain biking crash in Pacific Palisades over the weekend.

The biker suffered head, arm and shoulder injuries when he fell off his bike in the Santa Monica Mountains in the area between Pacific Palisades and Encino near the Sullivan Fire Road. The biker was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred shortly before noon Saturday at the edge of Topanga State Park.

A Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter was able to land nearby and stabilize the patient, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

He was airlifted to a trauma center in serious condition, added Humphrey.
