LYNWOOD, CA — A shooting involving a California Highway Patrol officer temporarily shut down all lanes of the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Lynwood today.

The incident began around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, when a pedestrian on the freeway was contacted by a patrol officer, California Highway Patrol OfficerSean Lough said. However, details of the events that precipitated the shooting were not immediately available.

The pedestrian was apparently hit by the officer's gunfire and transported to a hospital, Lough said.

The closure was expected to last until 4 a.m. Monday, according to the CHP.
