Officers Shoot At Suspect In Deadly LA County Police Chase: Reports
At least one person was killed during the Wednesday morning incident, according to reports.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A police pursuit that began in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday morning ended with a crash and a shooting on the busy 5 Freeway. The suspect in the chase was killed in the incident, according to reports.
The pursuit began at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Station, according to an LAPD spokesperson.
Officers began pursuing the suspect, who was wanted for unspecified reasons, KTLA reported.

The chase ended with a crash on the Olympic Boulevard off-ramp from the southbound 5 Freeway in the East Los Angeles area. The suspect crashed into a patrol vehicle, Fox 11 reported.
The driver and passenger were then engaged in a standoff as they remained in the vehicle, which had its airbags deployed. The shooting occurred at some point after the crash, Fox 11 reported.

Video aired by KTLA showed a black BMW stopped along the off-ramp at around 10:20 a.m. with multiple bullet holes through the windows and significant front-end damage.
The pursuit suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger climbed out of the car and was transported to a local hospital, Fox 11 reported.
At least one person was transported from the scene by paramedics.
