Olympic Officials To Walk Emmy Red Carpet, Light Coliseum Cauldron
Prior to Emmy ceremony, Mayor Garcetti, International Olympic Committee president and LA 2028 chair Casey Wasserman will be at Rams game.

LOS ANGELES – International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach is scheduled to attend the Los Angeles Rams game and Primetime Emmy Awards today to begin a two-day visit to the Los Angeles area.
Bach will light the cauldron at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, joined by Mayor Eric Garcetti, Casey Wasserman, chair of LA 2028, the Games' bid committee, Olympic gold medalist Rafer Johnson, and IOC board members Larry Probst, Anita De Frantz and Angela Ruggiero.
Johnson lit the Coliseum cauldron during the opening ceremony of the 1984 Olympics.

Bach is set to be joined at the game by IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper, IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games Christophe Dubi and senior leaders of the IOC administration.
The Coliseum will be the site of track and field for the 2028 Olympics and portions of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Bach, Garcetti, Wasserman and Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Nastia Liukin will walk on the red carpet for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. The Emmy Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater, the proposed venue for weightlifting for the Olympics.
The visit comes five days after the IOC unanimously selected Los Angeles to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympics.
