Online Pimps Busted For Connecting Johns To Brothels In LA County: Sheriff

The men are accused of running a website that connected customers to sex workers operating out of dozens of brothels across the state.

Two Los Angeles County men accused of running a website that connected customers to sex workers at dozens of brothels across the state have been arrested, authorities said Friday.

Kebin Dong, 38, and Wei Nie, 40, both of Hacienda Heights, were arrested earlier this week on charges of pimping, pandering and conspiracy, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, which led the investigation.

The arrest of the suspected pimps marked the conclusion of a year-long investigation into a sex dispatch operation that authorities said operated across the state and involved dozens of women, who may have been victims of human trafficking.

Dong and Nie are accused of owning and operating a website that advertised commercial sex services.

The website featured profiles for more than 60 women believed to be doing sex work at 30 brothels located in homes and hotels statewide, according to sheriff's officials.

"Dong and Nie facilitated suspected commercial sex buyers in scheduling appointments at these locations," officials said.

Police on Wednesday and Thursday executed search warrants at several of the brothels in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. "During the operation, multiple female victims of potential human trafficking were contacted and provided on-scene support and consultation by victim-service providers," the sheriff's office said.

Dong and Nie were arrested at their home on Thursday. Bail was set at $200,000 for each.
