Photos: CA Mourns Kobe Bryant, Other Victims Of Helicopter Crash

People gathered across Southern California to mourn Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and the seven others killed in a helicopter crash.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Almost immediately after news broke Sunday that Lakers legend Kobe Bryant had been killed in a Calabasas helicopter crash — along with his daughter, Gianna, and seven other people — people began to gather in mourning.

The photo gallery above shows several of the dozens of impromptu memorial sites that sprang up in the wake of the tragedy. Outside the Staples Center, where Bryant delighted fans for most of his 20-year career in Los Angeles, people came in droves, sporting his jerseys, carrying photos and lighting candles.

Inside the arena, crews shone spotlights on Bryant's No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys in the rafters as Grammy Awards performers rehearsed onstage. Similar memorials popped up around Los Angeles near murals depicting Bryant on the court during his prime years as a Laker.
