Pileup Snarls Valley Traffic For Miles

The rush hour crash involving about six cars occurred near the 101/170 Freeway transition in North Hollywood.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A multiple-vehicle crash on the southbound Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood backed up rush hour traffic for miles Thursday morning.

The California Highway Patrol is advising drivers to avoid the southbound side of the freeway near Riverside Drive. As of 8:30 a.m., traffic remained backed up from the Ventura (101) Freeway to Roscoe Boulevard.

According to ABC7, traffic was getting through in a single lane.

The crash, which involved as many as six cars, happened shortly before 7 a.m. just north of the 101 freeway interchange. Paramedics are on the scene.
