Police Shoot Gunman Targeting Passersby On Beverly Boulevard: LAPD
An officer-involved shooting occurred on Beverly Boulevard where a man pointed a gun at vehicles and pedestrians.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Police in Los Angeles exchanged gunfire with a man who aimed a gun at vehicles and pedestrians along Beverly Boulevard near The Grove Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect, who shot into at least one vehicle, is currently in police custody, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Annie Hernandez.
Officers responded to a report of a gunman on Beverly Boulevard north of Poinsettia Place at about 9:20 a.m., according to the LAPD.

"The suspect pointed a gun at a construction worker, continued walking and pointed the gun at pedestrians and vehicles," Hernandez said. "There were shots fired, and a victim stated her vehicle was struck."
The woman was not injured.

According to reports from the scene, the man fired the gun at responding officers, who returned fire. The man made his way into an apartment complex, where he fell to the ground, and police took him into custody, while also recovering a gun allegedly dropped by the suspect.
The suspect's condition was not immediately known, but video footage showed police officers walking him toward an ambulance.
