Police opened fire on the suspect Tuesday morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Police opened fire on a suspect in Mid-City Tuesday morning during an incident that began as a dispute over loud music.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Alsace Avenue, just south of Venice Boulevard near Redondo Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Before police arrived, the suspect was inside a car when he pointed a gun at another person who had asked him to turn down his music, according to the LAPD.

At some point, one or more officers opened fire, police said. It's unclear if anyone with hit.
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene and into an apartment, leading to a brief standoff, Fox 11 reported.

Aerial footage aired by the station showed evidence markers identifying numerous shell casings on the ground.
A gun and a knife were recovered from the scene, which investigators believe were discarded or seized during the arrest, Fox 11 reported.
