Powerball Ticket Worth $1,556,855 Sold in SoCal

As the Powerball jackpot creeps up to an estimated $800 million, one lucky player in Southern California is already a millionaire.

LOS ANGELES, CA —With Saturday's multi-state Powerball jackpot estimated to reach $800 million, letter fever is in full swing. However, one lucky SoCal lottery player is already holding a winning ticket worth, $1,556,855, the California Lottery announced.

There were no tickets with all six numbers sold in Wednesday's Powerball drawing. However, two tickets were sold in California with five winning numbers, but missing the Powerball number. Those tickets are worth $1,556,855, the California Lottery announced.

One winning ticket was sold at a CVS pharmacy at 11428 Kenyon Wat in Rancho Cucamonga and another was sold in the Bay Area.

The numbers drawn Wednesday were 19, 36, 37, 46, 56 and the Powerball number was 24. The jackpot was $715.3 million.

The drawing was the 36th since a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.
