Project Saving Grace Preps 522 Bags for Homeless Giveaway

Octavia Clayton-Smith, founder of The BIZZ Magazine thanks supporters for donations for Valentine's Day giveaway!

Hello All, when Phaedra Allen & I started this project we threw out the number 500 for bags that we wanted to put together. Remember, that was my goal not knowing we would reach it. We were able to make 522 bags! God is good! Next step, delivering all the bags this week.

I want to thank all the ladies and men that made donations and who came out to pack the bags. We have everything you could think of in these bags: sanitary napkins to condoms. The bags are stuffed & ready for delivery. Receiving the donations was easy because God had his hands in it but packing the bags was hard for these busy bee’s (1pm-10:30pm). My friends came out as far as Chino Hills & Corona.
A special shout out to all that helped organize, stuff 522 bags, brought food & drinks & brought other friends to help: Annie Clayton (Mom), Diane Jenkins (Aunt), Juanita Matthews (Aunt), Andrea Clayton (Neice-The Bizz COO, Sharon Rodgers (Sister/BFF), Diana Galbreath (my Buddy), Linda Carter (The Bizz Executive Assistant), Anngee Angela Holloway (my friend/older Sister), Stormyweather Cynthia Frazier Banks (my bud & business Buddy), Carmen Ingram (Red Tie Sister), Tiffany Lauderdale (Friend/Blue Tie sister), Theresa Brown Fitzgerald (Friend/Shandra Shandra Anderson Murray good friend), Amber Dickinson (Phaedras BFF), Dee Dee (Phaedra’s friend), Amber’s boyfriend and one of his friends. #SPMGMedia

Homeless women typically know where to find a safe place to sleep or a hot meal to eat. But when it comes to taking care of their feminine hygiene needs, they often have nowhere to turn. Tampons and sanitary pads usually top the list of needs at shelters. But since they are pricy and supporters don’t often donate them, homeless women usually have to do without.
It’s a desperate situation that many homeless women feel resigned to accept.
