On Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice released 3 million pages of Jeffrey Epstein's personal communications, offering a deeper look into the convicted sex offender's wide social circle.

The emails and texts include exchanges with a number of prominent Californians, particularly those in the sports and tech industries. The interactions aren't evidence of wrongdoing, a point Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche made on Fox News on Monday.

"We’ll always investigate any evidence of misconduct, but as you know, it’s not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein,” Blanche said. “It’s not a crime to email with Mr. Epstein, and some of these men may have done horrible things, and if we have evidence that allows us to prosecute them, you better believe we will.”

Here's a look at some of the people and places who appear in the latest round of Epstein documents:

Casey Wasserman

Three Los Angeles City Council members and Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn were among the elected officials Tuesday calling on LA 2028 Olympics committee chair Casey Wasserman to resign over a string of racy emails with Ghislaine Maxwell, who's been convicted of sex trafficking for her role in a widespread sexual abuse scandal involving the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The documents released Friday revealed multiple salacious email exchanges between Wasserman and Ghislane Maxwell, Epstein's associate who was convicted in 2021 on federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy for helping Epstein procure girls and young women.

The emails from 2003 appear to show a flirtatious exchange between Wasserman and Maxwell. Wasserman wrote that he wanted to see Maxwell in a "tight leather outfit," while Maxwell offered to give him a massage that can "drive a man wild."

Wasserman released a statement after the documents were made public.

"I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them," the statement reads.

Several prominent Los Angeles County politicians have called on Wasserman to resign from his Olympics role.

The 51-year-old Wasserman is the founder and CEO of Wasserman, a major sports and music marketing and talent agency, and grandson of legendary Hollywood agent Lew Wasserman.

Elon Musk

The billionaire Tesla CEO turns up at least a few times in Friday’s document release, notably in email exchanges in 2012 and 2013 in which he discussed visiting Epstein’s infamous Caribbean island compound.

But the documents don't indicate if the island visits took place. Spokespersons for Musk’s companies, Tesla and X, didn’t respond to emails seeking comment Friday or Saturday.

Musk has maintained that he repeatedly turned down the disgraced financier’s overtures. “Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED,” he posted on X in 2025.

The emails released Friday by the United States Department of Justice paint a friendlier picture.

"IF you find some time , come vist me on my island in the caribean. bringyour friend or friends. i will be there most of nov and dec," Epstein wrote to Musk in a September 2012 email released by the DOJ last week.

“Sounds good, will try to make it,” Mr. Musk replied, according to the New York Times.

"What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?," Musk later asked in a Nov. 25, 2012 email.

Brett Ratner

The film director who made the recently released Melania Trump documentary appears in several photographs included in the government’s files.

One, first released in December, shows him with his arms wrapped around the shirtless torso of Jean Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent who killed himself in jail in 2022 while awaiting trial on rape charges.

The more recent document release has a sequence of other photos apparently taken around the same time. Some show Ratner sitting on a couch with Epstein, Brunel and at least two young women. In the photos, Rattner has his arms wrapped around one of the women, whose faces are blacked out.

Ratner and a spokesperson for his film company didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Sergey Brin

The billionaire Google co-founder made plans to meet with Epstein and Maxwell at his townhouse in New York years before Epstein was publicly accused of sexually abusing underage girls, emails show.

In one exchange in 2003, Maxwell invited Brin to join her at a screening of the Renee Zellweger film “Down with Love” in New York.

She followed up a few weeks later to invite him to a “happily casual and relaxed” dinner at Epstein’s house. Brin offered to bring along Google’s then-CEO Eric Schmidt.

This week, The New York Times reported that, "Sarah Ransome, one of Mr. Epstein’s accusers, claimed in court documents in 2024 that she had met Mr. Brin and his then-fiancée, Anne Wojcicki, on Mr. Epstein’s island."

Spokespersons for Google didn’t immediately respond to an email from the AP seeking comment.

Todd Boehly

Epstein in 2011 set up two business meetings with Todd Boehly, part owner of the Dodgers and Lakers, three years after Epstein had been imprisoned for sex offenses, The Athletic reported.

At the time of the planned meetings, Boehly was a managing partner at Guggenheim Partners.

Reid Hoffman

Silicon Valley billionaire Reid Hoffman, the cofounder of LinkedIn, had previously maintained that his last meeting with Epstein was in 2015.

But following Friday's document release, Hoffman said in a social media post that he was "mistaken" — he actually had met or spoken to Epstein six other times in 2016 and 2018.

Hoffman says he was connected to Epstein via fundraising efforts for the MIT Media Lab.

Peter Thiel

PayPal and Palantir cofounder Peter Thiel appears at least 2,200 times in the latest release of Epstein files, Wired reported.

The files show the pair arranged to meet several times between 2014 and 2017. The bulk of the communications between the two men concern scheduling meals, calls and meetings.

One email from Thiel's former chief of staff details his complex dietary restrictions, including two dozen approved kinds of sushi and animal protein, 14 approved vegetables and zero approved fruits, according to Wired.

Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles

The Trump Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes is referenced in an email titled 'NTOC (National Threat Operations Center) Names.' The FBI’s National Threat Operations Center screens tips from the public.

An online tip alleging misconduct at the golf course was followed up on by the FBI, and the tipster was not deemed credible, according to the heavily redacted email released in the trove of documents last week.

According to the email, the tip alleges misconduct in the 90s — years before the president purchased the golf course.

Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside

Epstein reportedly paid for rooms at the famed Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside to attend an ESRI conference in Redlands in 2012, The Press-Enterprise reported Tuesday.

In conjunction with those plans, the Mission Inn Hotel appears hundreds of times in the trove of documents last week.

According to the Press-Enterprise, it’s unclear if Epstein stayed in the hotel or attended the conference, and Riverside and Redlands police have no record of any criminal investigations involving the disgraced financier.
