Remains Of Missing LA Mother Found, Ex-Husband Arrested: Police

LOS ANGELES, CA — The remains of Rachel Castillo, a 25-year-old mother who went missing last week, were found in a remote area of Antelope Valley, police said Sunday.

Castillo's ex-husband Zarbab Ali has been named the prime suspect in her death, police said, adding that he was arrested Sunday afternoon at his parent’s home in Victorville.

Castillo's sister called Simi Valley police Thursday evening after she arrived home at her Wood Ranch area apartment—which she shares with her sister—and found that Castillo was missing, authorities said. Her personal items including her phone were left behind.

Police said they found evidence at the apartment that a serious injury occurred but additional information is currently being withheld.

Castillo was entered into the missing persons database before her remains were found Sunday afternoon, police said.
