Report Of Grenades Found Near SGV Elementary School Prompts Lockdown: Report

The school was placed in lockdown as authorities responded to the scene, according to a report.

ROSEMEAD, CA — A report of objects believed to be grenades found near a San Gabriel Valley elementary school prompted a large law-enforcement response and forced the campus into lockdown Wednesday afternoon, according to a report.

KTLA reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department received a call at around 12:20 p.m. after a person found two objects, believed to be grenades, in the yard of a vacant house on Jackson Avenue, directly next to Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School.

The school was placed on lockdown and the LASD Arson/Explosives Detail responded to the scene.
