LOS ANGELES, CA - Reports of shots being fired on the USC campus in Los Angeles less than 24 hours after the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas sent some students running for their lives while other students and staff sheltered in place.
USC sent an alert to the campus community about possible shots fired. The alert read, "Police Activity at 610 Childs Way, Fertitta Hall on UPC Campus. Police searching Fertitta Hall. Shots reported but not confirmed. Shelter in place."
However, a systematic search by Los Angeles Police found no evidence of a gunman or of shots being fired.
