LOS ANGELES, CA — Teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School District will receive incremental salary increases totaling 21 percent over the next three school years, district officials said..
Starting on Sept. 5, teachers represented by the United Teachers of LA union will see salary increases as well as retroactive payments owed from July 1 to present.
In March, LA teachers went on a three-day planned strike to seek new contracts with the district. Thousands of workers rallied in downtown LA at LAUSD headquarters and eventually, a tentative agreement was reached.

The deal won staff raises of about 30 percent or more for low-wage workers that would be spread out over time and are affected by the length of service and current salary.
