SD Zoo 'Skyfari' Riders Stuck For Over An Hour

Riders of the San Diego Zoo's Skyfari ride were trapped in their gondolas for more than an hour on Saturday afternoon.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Riders of the San Diego Zoo's "Skyfari" experience were trapped in their gondolas for over an hour on Saturday afternoon, prompting emergency response.

The San Diego Fire Department responded to the incident around 4:30 p.m. to help park guests down from the park ride.

Some riders were able to safely exit gondolas on their own while others needed assistance and possibly medical evaluation, fire officials tweeted.

Crews remained at the park until all guests were escorted to the ground before 5 p.m.
